Lost and Finding
The hub for those interested in Adventure and Outdoor Education. The questions, the answers, and plenty of the antics. This is a space for all students, educators, and anyone who is curious to learn all about Adventure and Outdoor Education.
One of the biggest struggles it seems when looking into schools with these programs has been discovering who offers it and where are they located. This site is designed to answer those questions and more. Our approach is to make everything as easy as possible to navigate through and get the answers you seek. We are not tricking you into giving us money or trying to sway your extremely important decision of where and how to seek out further education, but rather we are laying out some of the vast possibilities in the hopes that the decisions can be made easier.
We take pride in our work but are still developing this site so patience and suggestions are always appreciated.

Adventure Education. Outdoor Education. Adventure-Based Education. What are these?
Outdoor Adventure Education, according to Scott D. Wurdinger is described as "a type of education that utilizes specific risk-taking activities... to foster personal growth."
Some of these activities are typically thought of as adventurous such as backpacking, mountaineering, rock climbing, water-based activities and much more. These activities can be used to teach far more than just the basics of how to actually accomplish them, but rather coping skills with events in ones life, dealing effectively with others, becoming a leader yourself, and/or just becoming more in tune with the natural world around you. All too often we feel trapped with our daily routine and it can appear that there is no escaping it. Although this is a huge concern, it does not have to be the strict reality. Adventure Education is one of the avenues that can greatly help this commo0n thought.
